We are looking for a good spot to hear Zydeco in NO, preferably FQ, but don%26#39;t mind taking a taxi. It will be Sat. May 9. There is not much I have been able to find.

Make sure you get to the proper place as the new one is a few blocks away from the old site.
We are only there Friday and saturday nights, so we%26#39;ll have to find another place.
On Bourbon St.....Krazy Korner usually has a Zydeco band on Friday/Saturday afternoons into the early evening.
If you want a good Cajun band that plays a mix of zydeco, cajun and rock, go to Old Opera House and hear the Bonoffs. Or across the street is Waylon Thibodeaux at the Tropical Isle Beach Club. Both of those band play Thur-Sun. and are the early bands..meaning afternoon into early evening.
A good site to check out for music listings is Offbeat. It will give you a listing of clubs and their schedules, including the type of music. You can also pick up a free printed copy in hotel lobbies etc. We`ve found it to be quite useful.
