hi, we are planning to go via amtrak from new york to new orleans for 5 nites either the 3rd or 4th week of oct. can you tell me the weather and what type of clothing to bring and pts of interest hotels in the mid range...we are not renting a car for now .......

You really don%26#39;t need a car in NOLA.Do you want to stay in the French Quarter or the Garden District? Good mid-range hotels in the Quarter are Hotel St. Marie, Place d%26#39;Armes, Inn on Bourbon %26amp; the Dauphine.

Last summer we did the Crescent from Hattiesburg Ms to Virginia. I hope you got a sleeper car. We had a great time. Have you done the train before?
