Hotel

Hi, we are going to New Orleans for my parent%26#39;s 25 anniversary. We are looking for a nice hotel that is in walking distance to everything since we won%26#39;t be renting a car, but somewhere that will be on the quieter side of things. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hotel

Depends on your budget and the type of room you are looking for. A balcony room not on bourbon is very nice. The Hotel St. Marie, Place d%26#39;Armes %26amp; the Dauphine are all good chooices that won%26#39;t break the budget. All have the feel of the French Quarter. If you want smaller and even more quiet there%26#39;s the Villa Convento which is right across the street from an amazing bakery. It%26#39;s rumored to be the old House of the Rising Sun. You can get the best rates for all of these hotels directly on their websites. just google them.

Hotel

New Orleans is ';very tight'; meaning that almost everything is in easy walking distance for the average person. I would suggest using bookit.com. The Holiday Inn Express also known as the Cotton Exchange Hotel is listed there as a ';Mystery Hotel';. It is one of the best values I%26#39;ve found. The hotel is clean with good service. It is in the downtown area , about 100 yard walk to the main street of Canal. The rates are usually low and the hotel has a great breakfast buffet included with the stay.

Great locations and still enough away from the noise would be the St. Marie or Place D%26#39;armes and even more towards the quieter side would be the Provincial or LeRichelieu. Keep in mind the French Quarter blocks are %26#39;short%26#39; blocks.

If you%26#39;re going to splurge at little, I%26#39;d go with the Ritz Carlton or the Monteleone - both are fabulous hotels, but not as loud and crazy as some of the other French Quarter ones.

The Iberville Suites is another mid-range hotel that would be a good choice!
